NCT ID NCT05343975
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether listening to audio-guided meditation during a breast biopsy helps reduce pain and anxiety. 225 women having a breast biopsy were offered meditation or standard care. Researchers measured their pain and anxiety levels before and after the procedure using questionnaires. The goal is to find a simple, non-drug way to improve the biopsy experience.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
audio-guided meditation
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to help patients feel less pain and anxiety during breast biopsies.
What could go wrong
This is a small, non-randomized study, so results may not apply to everyone. Meditation may not help all patients, and the effect might be small.
