New bone putty may replace painful hip graft in spine surgery
NCT ID NCT02250248
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested whether a man-made bone graft material (AttraX Putty) works as well as using the patient's own bone (autograft) for spinal fusion surgery. 45 adults with degenerative spine conditions were enrolled. The goal was to see if the putty could help bones fuse together just as effectively, without needing to take bone from the hip.
