Can a nightly eye drop tame severe nearsightedness in kids?
NCT ID NCT04699357
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested three strengths of atropine eye drops (0.01%, 0.04%, and 0.1%) in 219 children with high myopia (severe nearsightedness). The goal was to see which dose best slows the worsening of vision and eye growth over two years. Children received one drop in each eye every night, and researchers tracked changes in prescription and eye length, as well as side effects and how well children tolerated the treatment.
