Heart drug tested to stop dangerous beats during attack

NCT ID NCT07268586

Summary

This study tested if giving the drug atropine during an emergency heart attack procedure could prevent dangerous heart rhythm problems and low blood pressure. It involved 158 people having a specific type of heart attack (inferior STEMI) who were undergoing a procedure to open a blocked artery. Researchers wanted to see if atropine, which increases heart rate, could make the procedure safer by reducing these common complications.
