First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looks at whether obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) causes scarring (fibrosis) in the heart's upper chambers, even in people without atrial fibrillation. Researchers will use special MRI scans to measure scarring in 60 adults with different severities of OSA. The goal is to understand how sleep apnea might damage the heart over time.
