Scientists map the Heart's electrical chaos to find better fix for common arrhythmia

NCT ID NCT04041778

Summary

This study aimed to better understand the specific electrical patterns that cause persistent atrial fibrillation (AF), a common and difficult-to-treat irregular heartbeat. Researchers studied 17 patients already scheduled for a standard ablation procedure, using special mapping technology to analyze their heart's electrical activity during the treatment. The goal was to identify key problem areas so future ablation procedures could be more precisely targeted and potentially more effective.
