Heart scar treatment tested in major atrial fibrillation study

NCT ID NCT04377594

Summary

This study compares two approaches for treating persistent atrial fibrillation, a common irregular heartbeat. Researchers are testing whether adding treatment for scar tissue in the heart's upper chamber works better than standard treatment alone. The trial involves 200 participants who will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two procedures and followed for up to two years.
