Can a heart zap lower your stroke risk? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT05635864
Summary
This study looked at whether a common heart procedure called catheter ablation changes a patient's risk scores for stroke and bleeding. Researchers followed 167 adults with irregular heartbeats (atrial fibrillation or flutter) who were getting this procedure for the first time. They tracked patients' heart rhythms and collected blood samples for a year to see if the procedure lowered their calculated risk.
