Heart rhythm fix: new mapping tech vs. old x-ray method

NCT ID NCT07035288

Summary

This study tested two ways to guide a heart procedure for people with atrial fibrillation (AF), an irregular heartbeat. Forty patients had a catheter ablation to electrically isolate the pulmonary veins, which can trigger AF. Researchers compared using advanced 3D electroanatomical mapping (EAM) to using standard fluoroscopy (live X-ray) to see which method created more durable, long-lasting results when checked two months later.
