Scientists map Eczema's genetic fingerprint in skin

NCT ID NCT05436535

Summary

This study aimed to understand the different genetic patterns, or 'endotypes,' in the skin of people with mild versus moderate-to-severe eczema (atopic dermatitis). Researchers collected skin samples from 433 participants, including people with eczema and those without, over multiple visits to see how these patterns change with standard treatments like topical steroids or dupilumab. The goal was to gather detailed biological knowledge to potentially guide future, more personalized treatments.
