VA tests ADHD drug to sharpen minds and ease PTSD struggle

NCT ID NCT06573970

Summary

This study is testing if a medication called atomoxetine, already approved for ADHD, can help Veterans with PTSD who also have trouble with attention, focus, and thinking skills. Researchers want to see if improving these 'executive functions' can also reduce PTSD symptoms and improve daily life and social functioning. About 160 Veterans will be randomly assigned to take either the real medication or a placebo (sugar pill) for 12 weeks to compare the effects.
