AI-Powered home skin check could revolutionize cancer detection

NCT ID NCT05321784

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tested whether an at-home artificial intelligence system called Sklip can help people safely check their own moles and skin spots for signs of cancer. The goal was to see if the system could accurately identify which spots need a biopsy, potentially reducing unnecessary doctor visits and speeding up detection of dangerous skin cancers. The study was terminated early after enrolling only one participant, so results are limited.
