Kids' knee clue: uneven bending may signal hidden meniscus trouble
NCT ID NCT04741269
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study checked if a child's inability to bend one knee as far as the other could be a sign of a dislocated meniscus. Researchers looked at 98 children with a symptomatic discoid lateral meniscus, a condition where the knee cartilage is abnormally shaped. They found that this bending difference often pointed to a meniscus that had shifted out of place, which was confirmed during surgery.
