First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-stage trial is testing a drug called ASTX727 in adults with a type of brain tumor (glioma) that has an IDH mutation and has come back or is growing. The drug combines two substances to try to stop cancer cells from growing. The main goal is to find the highest safe dose, with 18 participants enrolled.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
ASTX727 (cedazuridine and decitabine)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for people with recurrent IDH-mutant gliomas, potentially slowing tumor growth.
What could go wrong
This is a very early Phase 1 trial with only 18 participants, focused on finding a safe dose. It is not yet known if ASTX727 will effectively control the cancer, and side effects are possible.
