NCT ID NCT06364527
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This pilot study tested a digital health platform that combines a smartphone app and connected inhaler sensors to help people with asthma track their medication use and technique. 94 adults with uncontrolled moderate-to-severe asthma in the UK used the platform for 6 months. The goal was to see if the tool could improve asthma control and quality of life, and help patients communicate better with their healthcare providers.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Aptar Digital Health respiratory disease management platform (a smartphone app and healthcare provider portal used with connected inhaler sensors)
What this could lead to
If successful, this digital tool could help people with asthma better manage their condition and improve communication with their doctors.
What could go wrong
This is a small pilot study with no control group, so results may not be conclusive. The platform depends on users consistently engaging with the app and sensors.
