One inhaler vs. two: major trial tests simpler asthma care for kids

NCT ID NCT06429475

Summary

This study aims to see if using one combined inhaler for both daily control and quick relief works better than the standard approach of using two separate inhalers for children with asthma. Over 1,000 children and teens in South Africa will use either the single inhaler or standard care for a year to compare how many serious asthma flare-ups they have. The goal is to find a simpler, more effective, and potentially more affordable way to manage asthma in areas with limited resources.
