Scientists test asthmatic hearts in thin mountain air

NCT ID NCT07431580

Summary

This study aims to understand how the right side of the heart responds to low oxygen levels in people with asthma. Eighteen adult participants with asthma will breathe special air mixtures that simulate altitudes up to 4,000 meters while their heart function is measured at rest and during light cycling. The goal is to gather knowledge to help advise people with asthma about activity in high-altitude environments.
