Simple breath test could help doctors target cough treatment

NCT ID NCT06590740

Summary

This study aimed to find a specific level on a simple breath test (FeNO) that could predict whether adults with a chronic dry cough would respond to a standard asthma inhaler treatment. About 1000 participants in China with a cough lasting at least 8 weeks used the inhaler for 8 weeks. Researchers measured their cough severity and breath test results to see if the test could reliably identify who would get better.
