Summary

This study aimed to understand if proteins related to the body's natural 24-hour clock (circadian rhythm) in blood and lung cells could serve as markers to predict disease progression and treatment response in people with severe eosinophilic asthma. Researchers monitored these 'clock proteins' in patients before and during treatment with mepolizumab, comparing them to healthy individuals and those with milder asthma. The goal was to see if these biological markers could help forecast how a patient's asthma might change over time or respond to therapy.
