Texts & telehealth: can your phone help teens breathe easier?

NCT ID NCT04365556

Summary

This study tested a smartphone-based program designed to help teenagers with moderate-to-severe asthma remember to take their daily inhaler medication. 72 teens aged 12-18 were assigned to either use this new program or continue their usual care. The program used text reminders, personalized feedback, and video coaching sessions to encourage better medication habits and aimed to see if this improved their asthma control.
