Texts & telehealth: can your phone help teens breathe easier?
NCT ID NCT04365556
Summary
This study tested a smartphone-based support program designed to help teenagers with moderate to severe asthma remember to take their daily controller medications. 72 teens aged 12-18 used a special inhaler cap that tracked their doses and received reminders and coaching via text messages and video calls. The goal was to see if this tech-assisted approach improved medication use and asthma control compared to usual care.
