New combo therapy aims to stop second strokes in at-risk patients

Summary

This study tests whether adding ticagrelor or cilostazol to aspirin can better prevent new strokes in people who recently had a minor stroke or TIA. About 900 adults aged 18-75 will receive one of the two drug combinations within 24 hours of their first event. Researchers will track new strokes and bleeding side effects over three months.
