Heart pump patients: does adding aspirin to warfarin help or hurt?
NCT ID NCT07343102
Summary
This study looked back at medical records to see if adding aspirin to the standard blood thinner warfarin affects the risk of serious blood-related problems in patients with a mechanical heart pump. It involved 220 patients with advanced heart failure who had received the CH-VAD heart pump. Researchers compared outcomes for one year between patients taking both medications and those taking warfarin alone.
