Common aspirin tested to halt growth of rare ear tumors

NCT ID NCT03079999

Summary

This study is testing whether taking aspirin daily can slow or stop the growth of vestibular schwannomas, which are non-cancerous tumors affecting hearing and balance nerves. About 97 patients aged 12 and older will be randomly assigned to take either aspirin or a placebo pill for up to 42 months. The main goal is to see if aspirin can delay tumor growth by more than 20% and help preserve hearing.
