Common heartburn & pain pills may stop premature births

NCT ID NCT07337655

Summary

This study tests whether taking low-dose aspirin and lansoprazole (a heartburn medication) daily can prevent early birth in pregnant women at high risk for delivering too soon. Researchers will first use blood tests to identify women most likely to benefit, then randomly assign about 670 participants to receive either the drug combination plus standard care or standard care alone. The main goal is to see if this approach reduces births before 37 weeks of pregnancy.
