Heart pump breakthrough: dropping aspirin could stop dangerous bleeding
NCT ID NCT06655376
Summary
This study aims to find the safest blood-thinning treatment for people living with advanced heart failure who rely on a mechanical heart pump (called an LVAD). It will compare two approaches in 128 patients: continuing with aspirin plus a standard blood thinner versus using only the standard blood thinner. The goal is to see if stopping aspirin reduces serious bleeding problems without increasing the risk of dangerous blood clots in the pump or brain.
