First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking a low-dose aspirin (100 mg) every day for 90 days can reduce deaths in people aged 75 and older who are hospitalized with pneumonia. Pneumonia often triggers heart problems that can be fatal, especially in older adults. The trial will involve 600 participants across multiple hospitals to see if this simple, cheap medicine can save lives.
