Heart patients in dilemma: to stop aspirin or not before colonoscopy?

NCT ID NCT07052799

First seen Mar 30, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether people with heart disease who take daily aspirin should stop or continue it before a colonoscopy. Stopping aspirin might raise the risk of heart problems, but continuing it could increase bleeding during the procedure. About 2,500 participants will be randomly assigned to either continue aspirin or take a placebo, and researchers will track heart events and bleeding complications.
