New MRI technique may grade Kids' brain tumors without a biopsy
NCT ID NCT07427316
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study will test if a special type of MRI scan, called arterial spin labelling (ASL), can accurately determine how aggressive a brain tumor is in children. Doctors will compare the scan results with the tumor's actual grade from tissue analysis. The goal is to see if this non-invasive scan can replace the need for a surgical biopsy to grade the tumor. The study plans to enroll 20 children and teenagers up to 18 years old who have a newly diagnosed brain tumor.
