Ancient herb tested to combat stress in LGBTQ+ community

Summary

This study is testing whether a natural herb called ashwagandha can help reduce stress, anxiety, and improve sleep for LGBTQ+ adults who experience chronic stress from discrimination. 80 participants will take either ashwagandha or a placebo pill for 8 weeks. Researchers will measure stress levels, mood, sleep quality, and a stress hormone in saliva to see if the herb helps.
