Ancient herb put to the test: can it boost modern athletes?
NCT ID NCT07041853
Summary
This study tested whether taking an ashwagandha root extract supplement helps athletes recover from training and improve their strength. For 42 days, 56 rugby and water polo players took either the supplement or a placebo pill. Researchers measured stress hormones, muscle soreness, and performance in exercises like jumps and lifts to see if the herb made a difference.
