National study aims to close racial gap in kidney transplant access
NCT ID NCT02879812
Summary
This study tested whether providing educational materials to dialysis center staff and patients could improve fairness in getting on the kidney transplant waitlist. It involved over 56,000 patients across roughly 750 dialysis centers in the U.S. The goal was to see if better education about the transplant system could help reduce racial disparities in who gets listed for a transplant.
