New hope for rare heart disease: trial tests drug to halt damage

Summary
This study is testing whether a medication called spironolactone can slow the progression of a rare heart muscle disease called ARVD. It will involve 120 patients in France who will take either the drug or a placebo for three years. The goal is to see if the drug can reduce heart damage and dangerous irregular heartbeats, potentially improving quality of life and reducing hospital visits.
