Army tests secret weapon for cold: special energy bars
NCT ID NCT07489690
Summary
This Army study aims to understand which type of energy bar—one higher in fat or one higher in carbs—helps soldiers perform better in the cold. Eight physically active volunteers will eat the bars and then complete exercise tasks in a cold room while scientists measure their energy use and performance. The goal is to gather knowledge to help prevent energy loss during cold-weather military missions.
