New arm machine aims to boost strength for paraplegic athletes

NCT ID NCT05777941

Summary

This study tested a new training device called an eccentric arm-crank to see if it could improve upper body performance in athletes with spinal cord injuries. Fourteen athletes with spinal cord injuries completed a 20-session training program on the device over several weeks. Researchers measured changes in strength, power, and endurance before and after the training to see if the device was effective and practical to use.
