Arm workouts may boost leg circulation in PAD patients
NCT ID NCT06068504
First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at how arm cranking exercise changes blood flow in the leg arteries of people with peripheral artery disease (PAD). Fifteen participants with PAD and leg pain during walking did three different sessions: arm exercise, warm water foot soaking, and rest. Researchers measured artery size, blood flow, and shear stress using ultrasound. The goal was to understand if arm exercise can improve leg circulation without walking.
