Summary
This study tested if using a special imaging technology (EIT) to personalize ventilator pressure settings works better than using standard charts for patients with severe lung failure (ARDS). It involved 676 critically ill adults on breathing machines across multiple hospitals. The main goal was to see which method helped more patients survive the first 28 days and spend less time in the hospital.
