Can a simple test tell doctors how to treat deadly lung failure?

NCT ID NCT07289711

Summary

This study aims to understand if grouping patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) by their level of inflammation can help doctors choose better treatments. Researchers will follow 500 adults in China with severe ARDS to see if using a model to classify them as 'high' or 'low' inflammation leads to more personalized care decisions, like how much fluid to give or whether to use steroids. The main goal is to gather knowledge to build better future treatment strategies, not to test a new drug.
