New scan aims to unlock mystery of lung damage in critically ill patients
NCT ID NCT07327268
Summary
This study aims to see if a new, non-invasive 3D scan can detect a specific harmful pattern of blood flow in the lungs of patients with severe ARDS who are on a ventilator. Researchers will use the scan to monitor 40 adult patients to understand if this blood flow pattern is present and measurable. The goal is to gather knowledge that could one day help guide treatments, but this study itself does not test a new treatment.
