NCT ID NCT07391085
First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looked at whether using augmented reality (AR) can improve how medical and midwifery students learn to perform a simulated vaginal birth. 389 students from Chile and Colombia were split into two groups: one used traditional text and video, while the other also used an AR module to explore a virtual birth scenario. After practicing, all students were tested on a high-fidelity simulator, and their performance was scored by experts. The goal was to see if AR helps students reach a minimum competency level faster.
