Virtual reality prepares future doctors for real births

NCT ID NCT07391085

Summary

This study tested whether an augmented reality (AR) training tool helps medical and midwifery students learn how to assist with vaginal births. Students from Chile and Colombia were randomly assigned to either traditional learning (text and video) or the same materials plus an interactive AR module before practicing on a high-tech birth simulator. Researchers measured if the AR group performed better during their first simulation to see if this technology could be a useful training aid.
