Video game tech boosts scoliosis therapy in teens

NCT ID NCT07201103

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tested whether using augmented reality (AR) during exercise helps teenagers with mild scoliosis feel more aware of their body, like their trunk appearance, and stick to their exercise routine. Thirty teens aged 10-18 with a spinal curve between 10 and 30 degrees were split into two groups: one did standard scoliosis exercises, and the other did the same exercises with AR guidance. The goal was to see if the AR group had better body awareness and exercise adherence after four weeks.
