Could a common Anti-Nausea drug tame sleep Apnea's blood pressure effects?
NCT ID NCT06462287
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This pilot study tests whether a drug called aprepitant (an NK1 receptor antagonist) can lower aldosterone levels in people with severe obstructive sleep apnea and high blood pressure. Researchers believe that sleep apnea may overstimulate aldosterone through nerve signals involving substance P. The study will measure aldosterone in urine before and after treatment in 24 adults.
