Apple watch prescribed as heart medicine in groundbreaking trial
NCT ID NCT04359238
Summary
This study tested whether a personalized, year-long exercise program could improve heart health and fitness in people with dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition where the heart muscle is weak. 300 participants were given an Apple Watch to track their activity and symptoms, with two-thirds following a custom exercise plan. Researchers measured changes in exercise capacity, heart function, and quality of life to see if safe, guided physical activity is beneficial for this heart condition.
