Summary

This small pilot study looked at whether eating apples changes the chemical byproducts produced by gut bacteria. Fifteen healthy adults ate three apples daily for three days while otherwise keeping their normal diet. Researchers analyzed stool samples before and after to see if apple consumption created measurable changes in these gut metabolites.
