Stitch battle: which method heals appendix scars better?

NCT ID NCT07274878

Summary

This study compares two ways to close skin after open appendix removal surgery. Researchers want to see if a hidden stitch with a small drain tube works better than traditional visible stitches at preventing wound infections. They'll measure infection rates, pain, scar appearance, and hospital stay in 100 patients having emergency appendix surgery.
