Ancient plant remedies tested in modern arthritis drug trial

NCT ID NCT07429565

Summary

This first-in-human study tested the safety of a new oral drug called APPA-1, which combines two plant-based compounds traditionally used for inflammation. It involved 40 healthy volunteers and people with osteoarthritis to see how the body processes the drug and if it is well-tolerated. The main goal was to find a safe dose and check for side effects before testing if it can relieve pain.
