First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 26, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving extra oxygen through a nasal tube during the placement of a breathing tube can prevent severe oxygen drops in ICU patients with acute breathing failure. About 500 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either the extra oxygen or standard care. The goal is to see if this simple addition can reduce the risk of dangerously low oxygen levels during the procedure.
