This study looked at whether taking an oral hormone therapy called apalutamide for 6 months could slow down low-risk prostate cancer and delay the need for more aggressive treatments like surgery or radiation. 93 men on active surveillance (watching the cancer without immediate treatment) were randomly assigned to continue surveillance alone or add the 6-month drug course. The goal was to see if the drug could safely push back the time when local treatment becomes necessary.
