New heart rhythm pill aims to tame chaotic heartbeats

Summary

This trial is testing whether a new oral medication called AP31969 can reduce how often people experience atrial fibrillation (AF) episodes and improve their quality of life. About 200 adults with AF will take either the medication or a placebo pill twice daily for 12 weeks while wearing a heart monitor. Researchers will compare how much AF occurs in each group to see if the medication effectively controls the irregular heart rhythm.
